About Me

ABOUT ME
updated May 31, 2010
(under construction)

Thank you for reading my blog! My name is Samantha Wallace and I am a TFP/TFCD photographer working out of Las Vegas, NV and occasionally Los Angeles, CA. I am always seeking to collaborate with models, other photographers, stylists, make-up/hair artists, prosthetics specialists, and others. I love shooting photos for whoever will let me, but I don't know why. I suppose I love the thrill. If you are interested in doing any collaborations or working on future projects, please contact me at anaisproductions@gmail.com or feel free to follow my blog, or follow me on twitter

I have been practicing photography for over 7 years now, and over 4 professionally. Recently, I lost all my portfolio work in a bizarre accident, and I am looking to acquire and create much better photos than the ones I lost. I have an upbeat, open and honest personality, and I like to maintain an open creative mind. I am open for doing all types of projects as I have experience in alternative fields of photography.

I practiced black and white darkroom film photography for two years, color darkroom film photography for one year, and I have been shooting digital and film on and off for over four years now afterward. I mainly shoot with a Nikon D70, Nikon D80, Nikon D90, or a Canon at 12 MP. I do not do the photoshopping for my photos, but I just try simple touch ups as I am not a whiz with the program. I shoot HD video and also do web clips and editing for those interested. I work off a Mac PowerBook G4 and my Mac Mini hard drive with 24 inch screen. I use a medium format Mamiya RB67 with 120 film and polaroid backs, Canon AE and AE-1 35mm cameras with macro and telephoto lenses and filters. I love working with my Polaroid Land Camera from the seventies. I also make my own DIY "ghost" cameras, copystand my own slides, archive backup copies, keep paperwork on file, collage and scrapbook in my spare time.

I mostly like to do dark, experimental photography with dramatic lighting, high colors, high resolution, and gritty textures. I have experience in experimental photo processing like Sebattier/solarized prints, darkroom editing, cyanotypes/Van Dykes/gumprints, polaroid acetone transfers, polaroid emulsion lifts, iMovie music video creation, selective film processing, etc. I have worked with small, medium, large, and digital format cameras, all types of polaroids, Holgas, point and shoots, and underwater cameras. I have 2 years experience color correction in a high-volume digital photo processing lab, and currently work as a professional photographer at the MGM Grand Hotel & Casino. I have 1 year experience shooting yearbook, group, and school portraits for grades K-12 and teachers. With this, I have learned to work well and communicate with the autistic, the young, old, deaf, blind, disabled, and all types. I have 2 years guerilla music promotion/street team/music marketing experience with Shoestring Promotions and have worked events for Method Man and Red Man, El Pus, Fox, Star Wars, American Idol, The Simpsons, and Lil Jon. I did a 6 month internship for Virgin Records band Grade8. I used to write for local punk magainze Brown Bag Magazine.

I am highly influenced by David LaChappelle, Joel Peter Witkin, Weegee, Annie Leibovitz, Ansel Adams, Manuel Alvarez Bravo, Picasso's Cubist movement, BUST magazine, David Lynch, DIY

I have experience shooting glamour, noir, high fashion, haute couture, feet, shoes, fetishes, food play, bondage, s/m, hardcore/softcore photo/video, terrorist/satire, crossdressing, large group shoots, weddings, sports/action, events like the World Series of Poker, paparazzi, birthdays, ads for freelance workers, yearbooks, school portraits, gourmet, showrooms, meet and greets, celebrities, and boxing matches. I have also had several live exhibitions that have featured my work. My favorite things to shoot are landscapes/architecture and urban settings. Things are much easier to shoot than people because 1) they don't talk back and 2) they are never concerned with how they look! I have some technical theatre and stage make-up experience as I performed as Las Vegas' own Columbia from the Rocky Horror Picture Show, as a mirror cast member of local crew Frankie's Favorite Obsession. I also write, edit, and publish my own websites, HTML code, photos, and all online profiles, so you know you are talking to me.

In addition to photography, I also have experience shooting, directing, and publishing video clips for private websites, fetish domains, and YouTube. I videoblog privately on a regular basis. I write essays and update my Blog frequently. I am also involved in volunteering for Sex Workers' Rights. I also do modeling on the side if the right project comes along, but mostly I am inexperienced. I was a photographic producer for an image/video firm The Collective for a year. I have experience VIP hostessing, trade show modeling, booth promotions, set-up/take-down, exotic dancing, and sales.

Recently, I was featured in Greg Friedler's book Naked Las Vegas, and David Palmer's film Stripped: Greg Friedler's Naked Las Vegas, which aired on Showtime, HBO, and select theatres. I have studied photography at the University of Las Vegas for 2 years, and for 2 years at the Las Vegas Academy of International Studies and Performing Arts. I graduated with a 4.5 GPA from LVA and am currently working on my Bachelor's in Sociology with a focus on Women's Studies, and Sexuality and Social Deviance and Delinquency from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. I am working closely with Professor Barb Brents in research on how people develop their sexual ideologies.

Academically, I am strongly interested in research that has to do with obscenity law, human sexuality, human anatomy, drug and addiction prevention/treatment and rehabilitation, foreign anthropology, ancient Egyptian culture and theology, Berkley's philosophical dialogues, social moral codes, fringe groups, subcultures, sex workers, social control and suppression, prison life, gang life, and military order.

That about sums it up! Please do not let my vast interests, or my experience in the adult industry scare you away! I am able to shoot with all types of people at any time, and not all my work is adult oriented. I love shooting kids, and especially children with talent! So, don't be shy and feel free to contact me about anything.

Thanks for listening!
XOXO, Sam of A|P
